The rules,
in short.

These terms cover the use of Emma, the voice assistant for macOS, and of this website. By installing Emma or creating an account, you accept them.

The licence

A licence lets you use Emma on your Macs for the term you choose: a month, a year or with no end date. Prices are published on Pricing when payment opens. All three give you the same software. Each licence can be active on up to 3 Macs. The key is personal: don't share it or resell it.

The code

Emma's source code is public on GitHub so you can read it and see what Emma does on your Mac. It is source-available, with all rights reserved. Being able to read it gives you no rights to it. What you may do is install Emma with the official installer and use it on your Macs under these terms, with a purchased licence where one is required. Copying, modifying or redistributing it needs written permission. The LICENSE file has the details.

Refunds

Within 14 days of buying you can ask for a full refund, no questions asked. Write to [email protected] and the licence is refunded.

No warranty

Emma is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. She can make mistakes, misunderstand what you ask or stop working with a macOS version. Emma asks you to confirm by voice before actions that can't be undone; check what you confirm.

Acceptable use

Don't use Emma for anything illegal, to harm other people or to get into accounts or computers that aren't yours. Don't try to overload or attack our server.

Your website account

Using Emma doesn't need an account. If you create one, keep your password safe. You can delete it any time from the account page. We may close accounts that break these terms.

Changes

If we change these terms, we update this page and its date.
